The little guy wanted to go look for ladybugs on our walk. I was a little worried we wouldn't find any after the 10 days of rain we've had, but soon enough we began to spot them.

Movie Monday: Alice in Wonderland

I decided to cover Alice in Wonderland this week.  I love the costumes in this movie.  I'm not 100% positive, but I believe it won the Oscar for costume design.  All the costumes were so unique, and a perfect fit for the characters, but I especially loved the dresses designed for Alice.

This first dress isn't my favorite of them all, but I love the added touch of the lace gloves.

Birthday Boy!

Today is my husband's birthday, and so I just want to wish him the happiest birthday ever!  I love you!  He's really the best :)

The Duchess

Last night I watched The Duchess.  It was an ok movie, though it wasn't really what I was expecting.  I was expecting something a little more light-hearted I guess, but this one was a little bit of a downer.  Visually though, I loved it.  I guess I'm a sucker for period pieces because of the costumes, ect.  The sets and costumes are always so extravagant and beautiful.  I think it would be fun to be an actress for the costumes alone sometimes ha ha.  Though, I'm sure that although these dresses are amazing to look at, they are probably not very comfortable to wear.

Movie Monday: Atonement

So I thought I would introduce a new weekly feature here on the blog.  Movie Monday.  I'll be highlighting some of the fashion from various movies.  Maybe just one look, maybe a few.  We'll see.  Back when I was looking for green clothes for the St. Patrick's Day post, I came across a picture from the movie Atonement.  I have always thought this dress was amazing, and wished that I could not only own it, but have an actual reason to wear it out.

Love it.  That last one can be a wallpaper, if you so wish.

Spring Cleaning

The nice weather we had on Thursday really must've gotten me in the mood to do some Spring Cleaning.  Ever since then I've been on a mission to get our things sorted, put away, cleaned, and donated/gotten rid of.  So far I haven't gotten as much done as I would like to, but every little bit of progress is a step.

Lazy, Rainy Days

Today is another rainy day for us, the first out of at least ten according to the forecast.  Yesterday was so amazing out, that it makes it all that more depressing.  I spent a lot of time outside yesterday cleaning out my car while the little guy got to take in some sunshine while playing outside.  So waking up to the grey sky, and drizzly rain, was not fun.  But, it does give me time to do some of my favorite rainy day activities.

Like cuddling up in bed and watching some tv or a movie, though so far I have been watching the Disney Channel.  Once my husband gets home from class and takes over, I fully intend to catch up on all the shows I have on the dvr.

Right now Little L is more into playing some games on my iPhone though.  I can barely take it out without him saying, "I play mama phone?"  He actually really likes the Angry Birds game, even though he doesn't quite
play it right.

Another thing I love to do, is catch up on some reading: books,blogs, or fashion magazines.  Laying under a cozy blanket and reading is always nice.

I'm also trying to get better at sewing, so I've been doing a bit of that (even on non-rainy days) lately.  Hopefully someday soon I'll feel confident enough to make my own clothes.

Japan

By now we've all seen and heard about the devastating earthquake and tsunami that have occurred in Japan.  I urge you all to donate in any way you can.  Threadless is doing a great thing over on their causes page to benefit Japan.  So go on over and vote on the shirts, and if you like them, buy one of the winning shirts to help out Japan.  For you designers, I think there are still a couple days left to submit a design to be sold for the cause.  Of course, you can always donate to the Red Cross, or other charity of your choice to help out.

Revamp

Hi, everyone!  I notice I've actually gotten some followers!  That's so amazing.  I'm really going to work on updating this on a daily basis.  I'm definitely not going to let it go weeks and months like I have been.  So I hope you will be visiting more often, as well as commenting :)  I'm in the process of giving the blog a little makeover, which I will hopefully have finished today or tomorrow.
